Lodge-Logo-(Larger - png)  Veterans Leather Program

Well it is that time of year again. Deer season is upon us and local Leather_Gloveshunters will once again have a chance to stretch out a helping hand to our Veterans in need.

Each year Missouri Elks collect hides for the Veterans Leather Program. This drive is part of a nationwide program started by the Elks in 1948 to help our veterans. Click link to Download Flyer.

Last year Elks nationwide donated over 17,000 hides. All the hides are tanned then distributed for recreational and occupational therapy throughout the Veterans Administration Health care system. Some of the leather is cut and sewn into specially designed fingerless gloves which aid veterans confined to wheelchairs by protecting their hands.

So this year the Eureka Pacific Elks Lodge 2644 is asking for your help and to be a part of this great program to help our Veterans. If you, a family member, a friend, deer processing business, or anyone would like to donate a deer hide. We will be collecting them throughout the season at the Elks Lodge in Eureka.

Thank You for your support and God Bless our Veterans!
